Biosecurity means keeping farm units secure from the introduction of new diseases, and minimizing the spread of disease within a herd. There are many simple precautions that can be taken and any biosecurity plan must be tailored to the needs of your farm. Biosecurity helps prevent new infectious diseases are avoided and also helps control and eradicate diseases. It reduces antibiotic use and increases profitability.
