'Giving customers what they want'

http://www.tesco.com/ Tesco has found from experience that the first need is to listen to consumers and innovate to service their needs. An emerging trend is the increasing customer concern about price and value. They want healthier food; they want fresher, more local food; and they increasingly look for products that are good for the environment. Thus in a fiercely competitive retail market Tesco is a market innovator. It has extended choice and cut prices for millions of customers, and it has generated massive profits for its shareholders. It is this ability to create value for the customer that differentiates a company in the marketplace.
