[edit] A trip to Pirotan near Jamnagar in Gujarat, India
I'd always thought one had to go diving, be terribly adventurous to see coral reefs a bit like Jacques Cousteau, but a couple of years ago i spent a beautiful holiday in Jamnagar and Pirotan Island, in Gujarat, the western most part of India. It was brilliant as this was also my first coral reef introduction. I was lucky enough to be escorted by marine scientists, fossil hunters, ornithologists and such like creatures..A great educaton it was.
This is one of the rare places in the world where one can look at corals without having to dive down into the water. As the tide ebbs the corals become visible..The mangroves here are fabulous.
