Talk:Navtoj Altaf
From CopperWiki
HI,
The article starts introducing us to Navjot Altaf and her work as an artist. I assume the next section is something more about her works/work and their impact.
The next section informs us about one of her porjct "Pilla Gudis" and how it aims at familiarising local children with the oral and artisitic tradition of the region. I now want to know more about how this project has had positive impact on carrying forward the local traitions in an era where local traditions are fast dying.
Instead, the article goes on to discuss about differnece between "knowing and modes of working" and "nourishment and sustenance from difference and similarities" and mainstream education system trying to create "unity in diversity". ( see Below) I am completely lost.
"Such interactions are aimed at encouraging the young to think about different ways of knowing and modes of working, enabling them to draw nourishment and sustenance from difference and similarities. The mainstream education system in India neutralizes cultural difference in the hope of creating a sense of 'Unity in Diversity' which affects student's perception of culture."
As I read more, I touch upon many ideas/thoughts but am not able to delve on any one one of them. There is an absence of connectivity between various ideas/thoughts and I am at the mercy of the author and his line of thoughts.
