On the commercial front Warli paintings, along with other folk arts like Pahadi paintings, Madhubani paintings, Patchitra paintings, Batik fabric paintings, have considerable demand even in the western countries and have been receiving excellent incentives from the Government.

The main interest in folk art is probably because it is the most intuitive medium of expression, and Warli painting is probably the simplest folk art paintings in the world as it is made only one color of white.

Warli paintings are also a great attraction among foreign tourists, bringing in a good amount of foreign exchange.
