Cabernet Sauvignon

This is the most popular of red wine grape varieties, being planted in nearly every wine growing region in the world. First originating in France, the grape is now farmed as far as Australia, South Africa and Chile.

The grape is a cross of the Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc grape varieties, hence its easy flowing name. The grape has combined most of the best traits of its parent varieties, being resistant to frost and rot and harvesting consistent yields year after year maintaining its flavours and structure.

The Cabernet Sauvignon has an incredible ability to age, some known to age well over seven decades and only increase in their aroma, flavour and complexity.
