There is a huge international market for hand-made paper which is reportedly growing at the rate of 30-35 percent per annum and India is looked upon as the country with the maximum potential growth. There is, however, considerable competition from countries such as China.
The Eco-friendly quality and long shelf life of the handmade paper fetches a high premium in the international market. But prices, even in the domestic markets, are linked with the international paper price movements.
