A nationwide study of violent deaths in US schools by the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control found that 77 percent of the school deaths were caused by firearms. Knives accounted for 17 percent. According to a WHO survey, in Israel 25 percent of boys and 6 percent of girls carry a weapon to school for protection.

Can India be far behind? Everyday one reads about violence in Indian schools, how children feel compelled to carry weapons of some sort to school. This is a deep social phenomenon that wee must get to the roots of, if we want to save our children.
