Thiamine, though scientifically considered as vitamin B1, is most commonly known by this name. This form of vitamin helps the body process carbohydrates and convert them to energy. Among the latest vitamins to be discovered, thiamine wasn’t properly identified and classified until 1935. Thiamine also facilitates better functioning of nerves, muscle cells, and the brain.
