[edit] What is traydio?
In the world of traydio, MP3 means MPfree! or to put it another way "Air to Share" (the traydio site strapline).
At this CopperStrings-enabled (more) site - that's already used by performers, poets, sages, doctors, musicians, podcasters, comedians, a Madonna impersonator, change agents, business advisors, health experts, social experimenters, visionaries, eccentrics, young people and a charity - anyone can potentially share, recycle and delight the world with original audio files.
Creating a traydio is like having your own on-demand radio station. traydio.com - en masse - is like having lots of on-demand radio stations to listen to whatever your taste in audio.
Traydio comprises 3 key groups - uploaders, downloaders and listeners.

A "traydio" is a collection of original MP3 audio files that anyone can listen to at: www.traydio.com see example traydios
For example, the Wondermentalist traydio is a brilliant collection of MP3s featuring talented performers who have featured in a unique cabaret in Totnes, UK.
Carl Munson's traydio is a collection of interviews and musings from this UK-based conscious living journalist (and founding member of traydio). Carl's traydio

Here's how you can upload and share your MP3s:
1. You will need a traydio account: sign-up page
2. Once you have a username and password, go to: [1] the traydio/Strings log-in page
3. Click the "share" or "upload now" links and follow the instructions...
A note on categories and keywords: When uploading, please choose no more than 3 categories, 1 or 2 is best; when using "can't or won't be categorised", use this on its own. PozPods are short and pithy pods, usually around 1 minute in duration or less. With keywords, up to 5 or 6 is ok if necessary, but use mainly descriptive nouns (e.g. nutrition) rather than proper nouns and names (e.g. Gillian McKeith).

pod - an audio or sound recording, usually an MP3
podcast - an on-going feed or supply of pods, whereby the subscriber is alterted as each pod is published/released
podcast software - you need it to set up a podcast - we recommend iTunes
RSS / RSS feed - the technology that enables podcasting e.g. to receive all traydio pods use this link: http://www.traydio.com/PodsRSS.aspx
subscription - the signing up process/mechanism for receiving a podcast
traydio - not only the name of the site, but also the collection of pods created by any traydio user e.g. the Wondermentalist Cabaret traydio
uploaders - those lovely folks who make pods and share them on traydio
downloaders - the lovely people who save their favourite pods to their own computer or i-pod
listeners - you're lovely too, but may have commitment issues
creative commons - the intellectual property licensing system. traydio accepts and offers (in the first instance) material within the spirit of this licence

Good audio recorders (if you like something better than your computer mic, mobile phone or digital camera) are:

The Olympus WS-210S recorder (Approx UK£70)
Another option is the Alesis USB mic, although it's best suited to desktop use (not location like the Zoom H2). It comes with Audacity, is easy to set up and is used by CopperStrings members Janey Lee Grace and What Doctors Don't Tell You. (Approx UK£70)
When recording interviews, ecological elegance can be achieved by using Skype and recording calls direct to MP3 using Callburner. Audacitycan be used to edit the results.
[edit] Podcasting with traydio
traydio in enabled for podcasting (see lexicon above) either for audio producers wishing to share their work and listeners wishing to subscribe to a particular audio producer.
[edit] Become a podcaster on traydio
You can make all your work available as it's published on traydio via our podcasting facility. On your unique user traydio page (example), you'll see a link - "Pods by X" in the left-hand corner of the screen (in this example: "Pod(s) by Dean"). This is an RSS link ( we use feedburner) that can used by anyone who wants to be notified about your pods as they are published. Subscribers to your podcast can follow the instructions below:

Go to your favourite traydio pod page(s)example), and click on "Pods by X" (in this example: "Pod(s) by Matt Harvey" Either follow the instructions on the Feedburner page or use the URL/RSS link in any RSS feed reader or in iTunes download For iTunes, follow this menu sequence:
1. Go to `Advanced' tab 2. Click `Subscribe to Podcast' 3. Enter link in the URL box (e.g. `http://www.traydio.com/PodsRSS.aspx?UserID=10') 5. Click `OK' 6. Confirm in the 'Podcasts' selection in your iTunes Library
