Vitamin B5, also known as Pantothenic acid, is classified as a water-soluble vitamin which plays an important role in supporting the adrenal gland and helps in the secretion of hormones, such as cortisone. When this nutrient is in short supply it causes various physical problems such as fatigue, abdominal pains, sleep disturbances and neurological disorders including numbness, paresthesia (abnormal sensation such as "burning feet" syndrome), muscle weakness and cramps.
