Oil spills can occur when an oil tanker leaks oil into the ocean by mistake or carelessness, or because of equipment breakdown. It ca also be an act of sabotage when a country may dump gallons of oil into another country’s ocean territory. Terrorists may do so to get a country’s attention.

Animals get poisoned and die or get blinded if oil enters their lungs or liver. Birds die if their feathers are covered by oil spills. Oil spill is a major cause of killer whaled getting endangered.
